Howdy,

Here is your weekly dose of The Creator Stream, a list of what I’m enjoying and working on in the Creator Economy. Please feel free to forward this along to friends.

My Favourite Things This Week

🛠️ Creator Tool I’m Using

Mr. Beast Launches YouTube Analytics Tool - It’s always cool when something new comes along that shakes up the norm. Social Blade has been a website where you can view YouTube analytics on your favourite channels for over a decade, however, it hasn’t changed that much in that time and is super outdated.

So I was pleasantly surprised to see that Mr. Beast has launched an analytics tool called ‘View Stats’ which blows Social Blade out of the water. It does everything and more such as highlighting the number of title and thumbnail changes a video has undergone, and provides the estimated 1/10 ranking for each video - giving you a better idea of how competitor channels are performing.

I tweeted about this just before Christmas and Mr. Beast himself replied saying that he builds these types of tools internally but he’s now going to start releasing them to the public to help us grow our channels!

🎙️ Podcast I’m Launching

Making It: The Podcast - I launched a new podcast together with my fellow former employees at Ali Abdaal. If you’ve been following me for a while, you would have seen my previous interviews with George Blackman and Gwilym Sims-Williams.

We met as Ali Abdaal employees, now, we’re scaling our own creator businesses working with some of the biggest creators on the planet. We'll share our experiences as YouTube producers, writers, thumbnail designers, and strategists, revealing the real stories behind working with some of the biggest channels.

In our very first episode, we revealed:

  • How George, Gwilym, and I started working in the Creator Economy

  • How George went from never working for a YouTuber before with no experience to working for Ali Abdaal.

  • How to reach out and DM your favourite creators when you want to work for them.

  • The three different ways anyone can get into the Creator Economy without actually starting off working with a YouTuber.

  • The most important skills you need to succeed in the YouTube game.
